hi, my name is tiffany.
At Joyful Journey Birth Services, my mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based support to families during their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. As a certified doula, I am dedicated to advocating for my clients and creating a safe and calming environment for them to experience the joy of birth. With my experience in hospitals and homebirths, I am passionate about helping families feel the difference I made in their birthing experience. Since 2022, I have been a doula and am excited to continue to help families welcome their sweet babies into the world.
my own birth story
My birth story includes both extreme ends of the spectrum. My first birth was a planned hospital birth. I suspected I had amniotic fluid leaking and went to labor and delivery on a Friday where after many tests, I was advised to go home as everything was "fine." I couldn't help but feel as though it wasn't. I went about normal life over the weekend, and returned to see my doctor the following Monday where I was advised to be induced. Feeling frustrated, as I had amniotic fluid leaking the entire weekend, all I could think about was how my first born was put at risk for an infection (which she did catch and had to stay in the hospital for a week on antibiotics). On top if it all, a procedure was done during birth without my consent. My second birth, however, was a beautiful home birth where I was supported, heard, and advocated for. I was provided evidence-based information where my husband and I could make informed decisions based on what we thought was best for our child. The entire experience was empowering and uplifting – a stark contrast to my first birth. I am so grateful for the birth team who made it happen.
